NMA-Post Modernism

The garden of Australian dreams at the National museum is said to be post modernism architecture  as there are many designs in the one places with many contributers.  The objects that stood out the most for me where the red and white navigation poles, first thinking abiout them they look like candy poles. The poles really stood out  size and amount of them all over the garden, real meaning behind them is survey's and explores used the poles to design, explore and navigate australia

Bauhaus

For Bauhaus inspired design I chose the simple water bottle as im drinking out of one right now.  The bottle is a simple design even tho making one isn't an easy process nor a inviro friendly one, but in saying that the bottle is designed to carry water. A device for carrying a substance for everyday use. simple and effective.

The art peice created by Henri Matisse Joy of life, the elements of the piece suggest Primitivism 

with its in touch with nature feel. The simple image suggests unsophisticated or child like.

the raw colours and the nakedness add to the primitivism design ascetic.

personally im not a fan of this era as the art just feels blan and plain.

ok so we set out to do assignments today which we did, and we ending up shooting each other these where some of my favs 

got my tech and lighting dialed for the portrait assignment looking forward to shooting it next week

so we hitted up the national portrait gallery again on monday for the national portrait prize 09.

man i was blown away with the work most of the images where stunning bar some which made no sense in them being there, here are some i loved and hated

so the "WINNER" of the competition ^^^ I think its a joke the lighting is nice but it lacks real meaning to it. To me if fills like a snapshot from a budget camera there is no expresion on the boys faces. not worthy I think.

on the other hand i love this pic among alot of others this stood out, the photographer has done well to capture him looking very determined and there for a purpose the black and white portrait is so smooth and stunning.

Also being another of my favs was theses two men they show real emotion and a true artist culture behind them the photo is bland but works will with the style and lighting .

just super stoked on it and look forward to going back to see it again

hello again

two weekends ago i travelled up to thredbo to shoot the oceania mtb champs.   The weekend was tought as i had friday morning planing where i had to be on the two tracks over the two days.

ok so now walking is overrated really hard trying to walk down thredbo and up as well i reckon i must have done it at least 20times, blisters on the first day for not where tight shoes learn my lesson on that part

NPA assignment 3

ok so bit late but been having trouble with the blogger and my gmail, but all good now i hope.

the photographers have created an awesome image of michael as a lean mean power house on the swimming circuit, the image shows this well, the stance of michael and the layout is perfect it draws the eye into the main subject,  

 

is a real eye catching image hope to create underwater stuff some day

FUN FLASH

ok so today was a bit of fun have some time to spare, so Jeremy and I played around with flashes,  the one in the dark room hurt after a while, headaches and blue dots in eyes from flash testing but worth every flash.   I think from now on we plan to do something cool/different/weird/interesting/maybe stupid every week just for shits and giggles,  GOOD TIMES
